 My first wheel., Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: G27 Racing Wheel (Electronics) This is the first and only wheel I've ever used, so I can't say how it compares to other wheels... I can however say that for a first time wheel buyer, this one is surprisingly awesome. All my friend's that have come over and used it love it too. I use it with my PS3 and GT5. It works great with my system and doesn't need any extra hardware or soft ware, just plug and play. I built a stand that works really good for .00 worth of 2x12's and screws plus a couple hours of my time and a hand full of beers. It all works so good, and is so much more fun, I can't go back to racing with a regular controller (except for drifting). I've been playing Gran Turismo since the first one on the original PlayStation and I'm kicking myself for not getting a wheel sooner. This wheel is supper smooth and gives great feedback while providing a very accurate driving experience. The pedals are way great, smooth, and accurate too. The only thing that kind of sucks is I can't shift it with t he H pattern shifter for crap (I can't find gears regularly), the clutch can be hella tricky, and I just spin out all the time when I try to drift. But the flappy paddle shifters are beyond crisp and smooth so I just use them, and I drift with a regular controller. The learning curve is steep, it took me about 10 to 15 hours of being frustrated till I really felt comfortable, and another 10 hours or so before I was back to winning difficult races... but now I'm way faster then I was with a standard controller and putting up the best times of my life. I highly recommend it. |
